Meet Our Staff

Pastor Phil is the founding pastor of Mt Tabor Bible Church.  He carried the vision of his family to plant the church in Newton County and then served as the senior pastor for 32 years.  He continues serving on the leadership team through discipleship and shepherding members.

 

He has been married to his wife, Joy, since June 1984.  They have been long time residents of Newton County and are sure to run into acquaintances any time that they are out and about. 

 

Phil has served in various leadership roles of education throughout the metro Atlanta area.  He currently serves as the COO of Rockdale Co. Public Schools.

Phil has made a lasting impact on many lives. He has never met a stranger and is a friend to all.  It doesn't take long in conversation with him to learn that he is best friends with his Savior first of all.
